Under K.S.A. 45-218, the agency must respond by the end of the third business day. That is not a promise that all records will be produced within three days. The response may provide the record, give an estimate, explain a delay, or cite the legal basis for a denial. K.S.A. 45-219 permits reasonable copy and staff-time fees. Request an itemized estimate before costs above a stated limit, and ask for redaction of protected parts instead of withholding the releasable balance.

Nemaha Jail Release History
The Sheriff’s facility history gives unusual local context. The current jail was built during 2015 and 2016, then opened in August 2016. It uses a pod-based plan and has 32 regular inmate spaces plus four temporary holding cells. Those holding cells matter when tracing a short stay. A brief hold or prompt transfer may leave no durable released-person result on the current-only web roster.
The jail used another part of the Law Enforcement Center from 1978 through 2016. An even older jail and Sheriff residence at Sixth and Nemaha later became a Nemaha County Historical Society museum.
